FASA has been the guiding force of franchising in South Africa for over thirty years and the growth and stability of the sector is largely thanks to the work that FASA has done over the years to promote ethical franchising. The brands accredited by the Franchise Association of South Africa benefit from the many events and activities that allow them not only to network with fellow franchisors but to benefit from the promotional opportunities FASA offers, including:

Exhibiting at the annual Franchise Business Festival – accredited companies receive 20% discount on the exhibition costs and have access to the following:

  • An accredited franchise company can participate in the ‘Win a franchise competition’ – the sponsor of this competition shares in the marketing plan of the FBF an investment of millions of rands in marketing spend – the only cost to the sponsor is the direct costs of establishing the franchise (prize),
  • An accredited exhibitor receives a social media action plan at no charge which enhances the brand’s presence on social media and drives visitors to the exhibitor’s stand.

By entering the annual Franchise Awards competition – past finalists and winners received millions of rands in free PR and in many instances, being a winner assisted the franchisor in becoming a household name in franchising in SA…and it costs nothing to submit an entry – entering is easy and can be completed online.

Submit information on events/celebrations/new developments/products or any newsworthy event to the association for publication in its weekly newsflash and blog – this is free advertising and an opportunity to increase brand awareness to thousands of recipients.  The Newsflash articles are shared on social media and provide fantastic exposure to brands at no cost.

Accredited companies can submit an article for publication in the association’s annual Franchise Manual – industry specific articles on specialist topics are always popular and published at no cost to the member – these articles provide very credible exposure to at no cost.  The manuals are distributed to all franchise companies in South Africa (that we know of) as well as visitors to the annual Franchise Business Festival.

Participate as a speaker at events like the annual convention and seminars – speaking opportunities are offered to FASA accredited companies free of charge – this is a great tool to gain credibility in the industry and obtain brand exposure at no cost.

Attend networking events, seminars, the Annual General Meeting and industry golf days – networking with industry players, stakeholders and other franchise company owners and CEO’s as well as franchisees is always a hit – most events of this nature are offered free of charge or attendance at a reduced rate.
