The management team at FASA are working on various exciting initiatives for 2018 designed to promote franchising as one of the safest ways to get into business. The role of FASA is to assist newcomers to the sector as well as existing members. At the same time, it aims to grow membership numbers but will never place quantity over quality. During 2017, several members were asked to either comply with the Code or resign. In its relentless drive for constant improvement, it intends to apply even stricter standards during 2018. Those franchise brands that are accredited by FASA contribute to a thriving sector that contributes 13,3% to the country’s GDP, generate sales of R587 billion through 845 franchisors and over 40 000 franchisees. More importantly, the franchise sector employs close to 350 000 people.
As the only representative body for franchising in South Africa, FASA promotes ethical franchising, lobbies government and stakeholders and accredits franchisors – it also offers many events and networking opportunities during the year, the most important being the annual Franchise Business Festival and annual Convention from 28 June to 1 July 2018 at the Kyalami Expo and Convention Centre.
If your business goals for 2018 are to capture a wider audience and increase profits then book now to exhibit at the Franchise Business Festival. Visit www.franchisebusinessfestival.co.za or email Martha Mashele at email@example.com
Franchising can look forward to a bright future and I invite you to join us on the exciting journey that lies ahead.
