A new franchise in the Building, Office & Home Services sector has joined the FASA stable and recently celebrated the opening of one of the four stores set to open by the end of 2014. At the opening of the Fourways Crossing Midek Paint Direct, owned by Riaan and Debbie Roux, Director of Midek Claus Kuhl talked of the success of the new concept which offers expert paint solutions, delivering on customer service excellence and consistent quality paint delivered through their flagship stores. Said Claus Kuhl at the launch, “we are very excited by the growth so far – our Fontainebleau store has grown by 43.3% compared to 2012 and 18% for the same period compared to 2013.”
Market research from Stats SA 2013 MBR Macroeconometric model, shows that the highest real growth in retail sales value between 2013 and 2014 will be experienced in respect of clothing, footwear and leather outlets followed by hardware, paint and glass with the latter expecting to grow at an estimated 9.6%. Annual turnover including brushes, wood care, paint etc in this specific demographic area is approximately R95 million per annum with roughly 12 000 households which excludes shopping, centres, schools and offices.
