When Bongani Mathabela applied for a position as a shop assistant at ProCell’s Botshabelo’s shop in the Free State, he never in his wildest dreams thought he would end up owning one of their franchises. But with the drive and determination to build a bright future for himself, Bongani worked his way up to technician, then manager of a few of the ProCell outlets.
Danie Cronje, owner of ProCell which has been in operation for a decade, didn’t have to look far to find a suitable candidate for the Botshabelo business. He saw in Bongani the ideal owner-operator with the necessary drive to succeed and with financial assistance from the holding company, Bongani opened his very own franchise in September 2017.
Whilst happy with his great achievement, Bongani believes he is now faced with a greater challenge as he works to build his own future. He realises he has to work even harder but believes that with the right attitude and a good dose of ambition, he can go on to open a second store in the not-too-distant future. His advice: “To everyone who is working hard to make it in life: keep it up and great things shall come your way!”
