FASA’S FRANCHISE SURVEY CONFIRMS THE TENACITY OF THE SECTOR


 
 

The Franchise Association of South Africa (FASA)’s fourth independent survey, sponsored by Sanlam, undertaken among franchisors in order to assess the contribution by the franchise sector to the South African economy in terms of GDP, shows a business sector that continues to grow despite challenging economic conditions.

CHANGES AS A RESULT OF A LANDMARK GARNISHEE RULING


 
 

The law that has enabled credit providers to access wages and salaries for money owed to them was challenged in the Constitutional Court in a case brought by the Stellenbosch University’s Legal Aid Clinic on behalf of 15 farmworkers who had up to 80% of their salaries deducted through garnishee orders (EAOs) each month, leaving them with virtually no money to survive.

FASA’S GOLF DAY A GREAT SUCCESS
 


 
 

With 31 four-ball teams vying to outdo each other on the golf green and taking advantage of the beautiful spring weather, the FASA 2016 Golf Day got off to a great start as all the teams donned their white golf shirts and FASA caps and got down to some serious golf. Well, that was great for the teams that had class A players but there were quite a number of four-balls whose handicap was suspect but that didn’t deter them – they were there to get some exercise, have fun and network.
