Services SETA Opens 2026/27 Discretionary Grant Applications
The Services SETA, a proud sponsor of the FASA Conference and Expo happening in February 2026 invites sector employers, employer associations, professional bodies, recognised trade unions and accredited Skills Development Providers to apply for Discretionary Grant funding for 2026/27. The grant supports Learning Programmes aligned with the Sector Skills Plan, Strategic Plan, 2026/27 Annual Performance Plan and National Skills Development Plan 2030, focusing on developing scarce and critical skills through workplace-based learning.
Application Period
Applications open: Monday, 10 November 2025 at 08:00
Applications close: Tuesday, 9 December 2025 at 15:00
Late, manual or emailed submissions will not be accepted.
Grant Purpose
The Discretionary Grant funds accredited learning and workplace-based programmes, including Learnerships, Apprenticeships, Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL), Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Skills Programmes, Adult Education and Training (AET) and Candidacy (full list available in Table 1). The objective is to create a sustainable pipeline of skilled, competent and employable candidates for the services sector.
Funding Priorities
Applicants must prioritise Learning Programmes listed on the Sector Priority Occupations and Interventions List (SPOIL) and those addressing hard-to-fill vacancies (see Annexure A). Proposals outside these categories will not be considered.

The following entities operating within the services sector may apply:
- Services SETA employers
- Business associations within the Services SETA scope
- Professional bodies within the Services SETA scope
- Trade unions within the Services SETA scope
- Accredited Skills Development Providers
