FASA’S Golf Day – Another record-breaking success
The annual golf day is a long tradition at FASA as it allows members from different sectors, service providers and suppliers to meet in a relaxed sporting atmosphere to compete and network. This year’s event on the 4th October at the Randpark Golf Club not only offered golfers the opportunity to play but also welcomed 18 non-golfers to enjoy the Padel facilities at the club.
Made possible by headline sponsor Absa and Last.Mile.Fast with a full house of hole sponsors and the support of our members, the day proved to be a great success!
Offering a shot of caffeine to start the day was Seattle Coffee who set up their mobile unit as golfers arrived. Golfers registered and received a goodie bag with some man-pampering items from Legends Barbershop in the form of a face soap, wipes and beard pens. FASA provided the caps with card clips and a towel and they were given energy bars (made from Mopani worms!) and Red Bull to give them a further boost.
Thanks to FASA organiser Shereen Davids, this year hosted a completely full house of four-balls who represented a wide range of business sectors that included:
- Golfers representing the retail sector with companies like Food Lovers Market, Overland Liquors and Cash Converters
- Fighting it out on the course were golfers from the Fast Food & Restaurant sector – represented by Mochachos, Pizza Perfect, Sausage Saloon and Col’Cacchio
- The Building & DIY sector had golfers from Mica & Defendoor;
- Even the Grooming sector took a break with Legends Barbershop participating
- It seems, by the number of FASA Service Providers and Suppliers, that these professionals love their golf.
- We had all the major banks and financial institutions pitting themselves against each other – Absa, African Bank, Business Partners, Capitec, FNB, Nedbank, MTN, Standard Bank, TMMBS & Old Mutual
- The lawyers also love their golf and we had golfers from Adams & Adams, Spoor & Fisher and Thomson Wilks here today.
- Other players include Hero/Last.Mile.Fast and Unique Co.
Giving refreshments, gifts and hole-in-one prizes along the course were the hole sponsors that included Akata / Melon, Battery Clinic, Bridgment, Business Partners, Cash Converters, Col’Cacchio, Defendoor, Deposita, FNB, Last.Mile.Fast, Legends Barber, Genfin, MTN, Oasis Water, Sheerguard, Spectank, TMMBS & Weworks
The golfers then gathered for the prize giving where the top twelve four-balls received their ranking prizes – ranging from fast food gift vouchers, hampers, cooler boxes, tog bags, golfing accessories, bottles of rare wines and spirits, champagne glasses, braai accessories to a power packs, a cell phone and two golf bags.
Well done to all the players, thanks to sponsors for their support and looking forward to seeing you next year at another challenging venue.
